From its headquarters in Margam, Rototherm has manufactured precision instrumentation measuring such things as temperature, pressure, density and flow since 1969. It supplies to a range of customers worldwide in the energy, beverage, LPG, pharmaceutical, healthcare, water, transport and defence industries.
In March 2020, the company responded to a call from a Welsh NHS trust to produce some face shields, as COVID-19 spread across the globe. Within 6 weeks, it was producing 250,000 a week and RotoMedical was born. It’s become Wales’s largest manufacturer of medical face masks, with a capacity of 13 million units a month and is currently the only UK manufacturer of safety goggles, in partnership with eyewear brand Bollé.
Oliver Conger and his brother acquired the company around 10 years ago. The efficiency and responsiveness he’s experienced from the team at Neath Port Talbot Council has left him in no doubt that the company is in the area to stay.
